The Interreg Aurora project Cultural Platform Kvarken will explore possibilities for a cultural collaboration across borders in Kvarken in this small-scale project. Currently, there is no common structure or system in place for cultural collaboration across borders in Kvarken and actors and possibilities are mainly separated. It’s hypothesized that a structure for such collaboration would increase awareness of actors and posibilities, as well as offer synergies and contribute to the development of both the creative fields and regions attractiveness and growth respectively. What such a structure – possibly called “platform” – would entail is currently not defined and is a key topic for discussion within the small-scale project.
The overall objective is for the small-scale project to study the feasibility of establishing a sustainable structure of collaboration, possibly in the form of a platform of events, that facilitates continuous cultural cooperation, bringing together cultural stakeholders, consumers, businesses, and decision-makers across the border in the entire region. If the need for developing structured forms of cultural collaboration is confirmed and the necessary conditions are in place, the intent is to explore the possibility of forming a larger scale application aiming to initiate the actual work with establishing such a cultural platform. The Kvarken council EGTC, a membership organization with both swedish and finnish members, will be lead part and act as single beneficiary – an option available for EGTC:s.
