ClimateForest – Climate Change Adaptation of Northern Forests: Risks and Prevention of Damaging Agents

Climate change-related disturbances are significantly impacting forest growth in parts of Europe, with these issues expected to increase and spread northwards. The Aurora area is projected to experience a more dramatic temperature rise than lower latitudes, likely resulting in more severe climate change effects.

The primary goal of this project is to create new tools and risk management methods to prevent forest damage and support livelihoods in the Aurora region. The project will generate new knowledge for short- and long- term activities to enhance living conditions in the Aurora region and contribute to sustainable ecological, social, and economic development.

The main target groups for this project are forest owners, forestry professionals and experts, the forest industry, and local and national decision-makers. The project’s dissemination activities will engage these groups throughout its duration and ensure easy access to the necessary information for implementing the project’s results in everyday practices.
