Six themes for future cross-border cooperation that can strengthen the battery technology actors

Norway, Sweden, and Finland face similar challenges with the emerging green industry and battery production industries. The project partners Kvarken Council, EGTC and Midtskandia has implemented a small-scale project/feasibility study funded by Interreg Aurora to prepare the battery technology actors for a larger implementation project. Within the project, challenges and opportunities related to the ongoing investments in green industry in the northern Nordics were examined by interviews with experts and hosting a workshop with stakeholders. 4th Interreg Aurora call for regular project applications is open

Today the Interreg Aurora Programme opens the 4th call for regular project applications. The call opens the 5 February and will close the 5 March, 2024. All Priorities and Specific Objectives will be open regarding EU-funding. Priority 2, Green and sustainable transition is closed for Norwegian IR-funding. A project can apply a maximum of 200 000 EUR (2 mill. NOK) in IR-funding. Interreg Aurora funds 8 new cross-border projects

The two Interreg Aurora Steering Committees, for sub-area Aurora and sub-area Sápmi, have met 16-17 January to decide on funding of new cross-border cooperation projects. Sara Nylund, Vice Chair of the Regional development board of Västernorrland welcomed the Committees to Sundsvall and gave a presentation about ongoing regional development and investment plans in the region. Call for small-scale project applications opens today

Today Interreg Aurora has launched a call for small-scale projects. The call will be open from 2 January to 2 February 2024. Applications will be accepted until 24:00 (CET) 2 February. The recommendation is to submit applications during business hours, when it is possible to get support. It is important to read more about the terms of reference, specific focus, open and closed Prioritities/Specific Objectives for each call for applications. Now it’s official! Welcome Kainuu and Pohjois-Karjala to Interreg Aurora

The European Commission has approved the enlargement and increased funding of the Interreg Aurora Programme on the 20 december 2023. Two new Finnish regions, Kainuu and Pohjois-Karjala are now officially included in the programme area. The funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) has increased with about 25 million euros.
