How young fiddlers keep Finland’s tradition of folk music alive

In June 2023, Deutsche Welle journalist Gunnar Köhne visited Kaustinen in Finland, to learn more on how young musicians can play a key role in keeping the cultural heritage of traditional music alive in this region as well as learn more about the Interreg Aurora-funded project ICH North. Kaustinen fiddling is now on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list. What is the recipe for success?

Back in time through sediments

The ongoing Interreg Aurora project Our Precious Transboundary Waters gave a report back from their field work in Pasvik. We are documenting the state of
