Steering group of the Interreg Aurora funded project Arctic Music Circles

Stay tuned for upcoming exciting music activities!

Greetings from the Steering group of the Interreg Aurora funded project Arctic Music Circles!

We recently held a productive steering group meeting in Stockholm (February 18–19) to review our past achievements, discuss ongoing activities, and plan future initiatives. We covered everything from potential collaborations and creative ideas to financial status checks – especially important now that we’re halfway through the project. We also made sure we’re on track with the EU’s requirements and celebrated the milestones we’ve met so far. We have some very interesting music activities planned for the fall 2025 that we’re excited to share more information about soon!

A recent highlight is the collaboration with the Frozen People Festival in Oulu, where the project facilitated a DJ exchange with the Insomnia Festival in Tromsø to strengthening cross-border collaboration between Finland and Norway while increasing Arctic Pulse’s visibility within the electronic music scene.

The project documents their project activities and gatherings in aftermovies, check out the aftermovie from a Producers Network meeting in Kautokeino 2024.

Cultural coordinators, producers, event organizers, and musicians from northern Sweden, Finland, and Norway gathered for an inspiring networking meeting in the heart of the Sami landscape in Kautokeino, Norway, where they discussed shared needs, challenges, and opportunities within the Arctic music scene.

These meetings are more than just gatherings – they are a platform to build long-term relationships, share knowledge, and gain new insights. Through engaging workshops and seminars, participants exchanged ideas, formed new connections, and explored opportunities for cross-border collaborations to strengthen the Arctic music and cultural scene, with a particular focus on highlighting music from minority groups.
